Not everyone with a 2026 World Cup ticket gets to attend every match. Fan Zones - free public viewing parties with big screens, food, and entertainment - are where most of the World Cup actually gets watched. FIFA hosts the official Fan Festival in each host city; cities and bars run additional viewing sites. Here's what to expect city by city.
What FIFA Fan Festivals offer
- •Free entry, no ticket required.
- •Giant LED screens broadcasting every match.
- •Food, drinks (often beer + soft), and merchandise vendors.
- •Live music between matches.
- •Child-friendly programming during day matches.
- •Limited capacity for popular matches - arrive 2-3 hours early for the Final or your team's match.
USA host cities
- •New York / New Jersey: Liberty State Park (Jersey City) expected - waterfront with Lower Manhattan skyline view.
- •Los Angeles: SoFi Stadium District plaza + LA Live downtown.
- •Dallas: Klyde Warren Park downtown - elevated park over the freeway.
- •San Francisco Bay: Civic Center Plaza (SF) and San Pedro Square (San Jose).
- •Miami: Bayfront Park downtown - on the water, plus Wynwood Walls plaza.

- •Atlanta: Centennial Olympic Park - directly between the stadium and downtown attractions.
- •Houston: Discovery Green downtown.
Mexico host cities
- •Mexico City: The Zócalo (Plaza de la Constitución) - one of the largest urban squares in the world. The Opening Match watch party here will be enormous.
- •Guadalajara: Plaza de la Liberación or Glorieta Minerva expected.
- •Monterrey: Macroplaza (Centro) or Parque Fundidora expected.
Canada host cities
- •Toronto: Nathan Phillips Square in front of City Hall.

Football pubs in every host city
Beyond the official Fan Festivals, every host city has dedicated football pubs that show every match. They're often the best atmosphere for international fans - quieter than the Festivals but more dedicated. See each city guide for the recommended pubs (Football Factory in NYC, The Cock 'n Bull in Santa Monica, Misconduct Tavern in Philly, The George & Dragon in Seattle, etc.).
What to bring to a Fan Festival
- •Sun protection - most sites are open-air with limited shade.
- •A foldable chair or blanket if allowed (check site rules).
- •Refillable water bottle.
- •Cash + card (most US Fan Festival vendors are cashless; Mexican ones often cash).
- •Charged phone - signal often degrades in big crowds.
- •Don't bring: pro cameras, large bags, alcohol from outside.
Why Fan Zones matter even for ticket holders
Even if you have a ticket to one match, you'll have non-match days during your trip. Fan Festivals are where the city's World Cup atmosphere lives - day-of-match drinking and celebration, post-match crowds, between-match concerts. They're the most efficient way to feel the tournament when you're not in the stadium.
